First of all wow...
it's been 5 years (well, it'll be in 9 days) since my last post. Wow. FIVE. YEARS. Jeez.
Anywayz - new decade now (or not, depends on who you side with), so lets -try- to start over once again.

Hello peoplez! Happy new year! Happy new decade! Happy anything-you-want.

Been on the silent side once again. I've been visiting the site almost on a daily basis, checking new devs of the various people I watch but that's about it.
No "art" for me, no journals, no nothing. Guess I like it that way. Being the silent guy. In any case, I'm thinking of trying my hand on some fractals again. We'll see how that goes.

2010 seems to be a very important year for me. Although I'm kinda overwhelmed lately, I think I'm in a good mood to (at least) start off the year with the best possible intentions. Especially as far as professional stuff are concerned, this ought to be THE year. As in "now or never". As in "Keep them fingers crossed". As in "wish me luck". As in "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy".
We'll see how it goes.

Jamie boy said it... but I didn't listen, did I?
Never say never man... I said that I'd never upload stuff here again. But I did.
Took me almost 2 years since I deleted my shit and if I remember correctly about 4 since I last uploaded anything here (yes, I am a productive little fella ).

Anyway, for some strange reason I had this urge to upload this wallpaper I did. It's the first try ever using a fractal app called Apophysis. I really like the app but have absolutely no clue how to use it effectively. The wallpaper I upped was the result of LOTS of trial and fooling around. I don't even know if I can do anything on purpose. But I hope someday I'll be able to fire Apophysis up and create some good flame fractals since I really like them...

Anywayz... Dunno why I wanted to upload it. Maybe it's because I've been watching some great artists here on DA and I've been overwhelmed with great art and I just wanted to contribute my own stuff again... And I ain't that mad about my shit getting deleted anymore.

I don't know if my wall can be strictly classified as art. Creating flame fractals is really about drawing - it's a lot more about fooling around with numbers and geometry. But what can you expect from such a tech-minded guy?

Oh well... Time to wrap this up. Gotta get back to work.

I just came on DA today on my daily visit and found this very nice note, telling me that a WALLPAPER I submitted back in 2000 got a policy violation...
I would like to thank the -anonymous- member of DA's staff that decided this and let him/her know that the note I received (which I believe is a cut & paste thing) was rude, ignorant and totally inappropriate.
First you check some basic info on a 'deviation' and then you judge. When someone uploaded a piece of work 2.5 years ago when DA had like 1000 members and submissions, when DA had less than a tenth of today's categories and when all of today's policies and shit where not even a possibility, that someone should not be insulted with a letter like the one the DA staff is sending people.
Especially, when someone submits artwork that:
1. Has wallpaper dimensions
2. Shows a lighthouse at night and
for me is a "scenic" wallpaper.
However, that -anonymous- member of the DA staff decided that he/she didn't like it and so it's not appropriate for DA.
The staff member that sent me that note didn't even have the courtesy of mentioning WHY he/she thought my wallpaper violated the DA policies. In a "you-should-have-known-better-you-stupid-fuck" type of note, he/she managed to insult one of the oldest DA members.
Oh well...
Since the DA staff these days is acting like this, I decided to remove all of my submitted works and I won't be uploading anything new I ever do (if I ever do anything new). There's no reason for the hard-working staff to be bothered with my stupid stuff anymore.
I will not stop coming to DA, as some of the stuff I like from other artists far better than me, still manages not to violate any policies.
